New Year’s Resolutions 2018
Y’all… I can’t believe how quickly 2017 flew by! It’s the beginning of a new year, meaning that I will be dating my forms and papers 2017 instead of 2018 for a few weeks. I know many people believe that New Year’s resolutions are pointless, as every day should be used as a new opportunity to challenge yourself. I definitely agree with that, but I also like the rejuvenating feeling that a new year brings. New year, new me… right? Just kidding! However, I do like to use this time to evaluate and realign all of my goals for the year.
- Be a morning person.
I seriously think that there is something wrong with me when it comes to waking up early and on time. No matter how early I sleep or how well-rested I am, I still end up waking up late. I even place my alarm clock across the room, but I somehow manage to sleepwalk to turn it off then go back to bed – not snooze, but turn the actual alarm off. This results with me scrambling to get ready at the last minute and being late to everything. If I can figure out how to fix this issue, my mornings would drastically change for the better. I would have time to eat breakfast, make myself look more put-together, and have a routine.
- Drink more water.
I tell myself this every single day, but I have absolutely no self-discipline when it comes to soda. There are just some meals, like burger and fries for example, where I think Coke would taste a lot better to drink instead water. SMH! I clearly need to stop this because soda is so so so unhealthy.
- Start going to the gym again.
Being stuck in a cubicle for 40 hours a week is really taking its toll on my body. I started to notice changes in my physical appearance, as well as my overall strength and stamina. I need to set aside time for me to go back to the gym and exercise. No matter how mentally tired I may be after work, I just need to push myself to go because I know how much it would benefit me. Not to mention that summer is right around the corner…
- Save money.
2018 is the year that I will stop buying unnecessary things. I will let my savings account flourish. Enough said.
- Take time for self-care.
It is incredibly important to do something nice for ourselves once in a while. Whether that be taking a bath, getting a massage, reading my favorite book, or whatever. I need to take the time out of my busy schedule to do it. I should stop overcommitting and filling up my agenda with things that cause unnecessary stress.
Don’t forget to let me know down below what your New Year’s resolutions are. Let’s make 2018 the best one yet!
